Gabe is working on a long-term contract with the City of Chesapeake’s Information Technology Department as a computer operator and is valued for his daily contributions.
Some observations of Gabe’s work performance include excellence in customer service and him proactively arriving early for his night shift. He uses the early arrival to coordinate with daytime employees and address possible questions that may arise overnight. By taking this extra measure, he ensures there is minimal impact on maintaining nightly processing runs and prevents unnecessary errors from requests that may not have been submitted accurately.
Gabe also seeks out answers when needed or in the event that something looks incorrect. He takes pride in the service he provides, ensuring all jobs are completed without error, checking the quality of reports before distribution, as well as recording any events that take place during his shift. It is not unusual to find a note or two from Gabe addressed to fellow team members or his supervisor.
“Our goal is to provide Excellence in Customer Service,” said Tracey Church, Gabe’s supervisor. “Gabe is consistent in providing this level of excellence through his reliability, attention to detail and his dedication to ensuring all duties and requests have been completed accurately and in the best quality by the end of his shift. He is a fine example of a team player.”
Gabe consistently demonstrates integrity, reliability, strong communication skills and a great personality.
Growing up in Panama, his home country, Gabe brings that cheerful island appeal to the job every day. He obtained his U.S. citizenship recently and shared that celebration with his peers at the office.
