Q: What kind of jobs do you have?
A: We offer a wide-range of positions, generally in the accounting, industrial, warehousing, manufacturing, and administrative career fields. Please check our job board for the positions currently available.
Q: Do you have shipyard jobs?
A: No – we currently do not provide workers to any shipyard
Q: Do you have driving jobs?
A: No – we currently do not provide drivers to clients
Q: What should I expect will happen when I come in to apply?
A: Not only should you expect to provide all required information on the application, but you will likely be interviewed by one of our placement specialists that day. Applications are accepted between 9-11 am and 2-3pm Monday-Thursday.
Q: What information should I have with me when I apply?
A: Please have the addresses and phone numbers of your last four jobs and a resume. Additionally, while not required, you may be hired that day and it could be helpful to have with you the identification required for the I-9 form (List of acceptable documents from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services).
Q: Why do I need a resume?
A: Clients review resumes based on your employment history and skills; it is one of the building blocks we use to ensure we are matching the right candidate with the right skills for the client.
Q: Why do I have to list my previous employers on the application?
A: It is important that we provide our clients the right candidate for the position they are seeking to fill. We ask for information regarding your previous employers to verify your work history and review what types of jobs you have done in the past
Q: Can I use your bathroom?
A: We do not have a public restroom. There are public restrooms available in the Chesapeake and Suffolk offices.
Q: Do I have to take a drug test?
A: You may have to take a drug test depending on client requirements.
Q: Do you hire felons?
A: A felony conviction does not automatically exclude you from being hired for some positions. A determination is based upon client policy, the nature and gravity of the applicant’s offense, the time that has passed since the conviction or completion of the sentence, and the nature of the job.
Q: Do you charge a fee? .
A: Reliance does not charge any employee a placement fee.
Q: Can I bring my child when I fill out the app? Can he/she sit in the lobby while I interview?
A: Different offices may have more relaxed rules; however, as is general policy, it is inappropriate to bring children to a job interview. Our Virginia Beach office does not permit children in the waiting area.

Between the interview and receiving a placement offer
Q: How will I know if I get placed?
A: Call the office where you applied, speak with your placement specialist, and tell them every week that you are available to work.
Q: Why have I not yet been offered a job after being interviewed?
A You need to contact Reliance once a week to be marked available if you are available to work. Also, many times Reliance tries to contact you and the phone # is disconnected. If you change your phone # please call Reliance and let us know.
Q: Did we call you?
A: Whenever someone from Reliance Staffing calls you, someone will leave a message if your voice mail box is set up and is not full. Please listen to your message – it might be a job offer!
You’re hired! What to do when you get the job
Q: Can Reliance Staffing text me?
A: Yes – Reliance Staffing only needs your cell phone # and your phone carrier. However, please remember to tell us if your number changes. We will often text people when there is a job opening that meets your experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
Q: What happens if I don’t show up for a job I’ve been placed in?
A: It is company policy that if you fail to show up for a job or refuse to work at a job that you agreed to work, that we reserve the right to no longer offer you positions. Your employment with Reliance may be terminated.
Q: How do I submit my time?
A: Download the time sheet, fill it out completely, and provide it to your supervisor.
Pay, Benefits and Taxes
Q: How do I get a Global Cash Card Account?
A: Visit the Global Cash Card webpage and click on the link on the top right that says “Register Here”. Continue the registration process as directed.
Q: How do I get my pay stubs?
A: Even if you do not have a cash card to receive your pay, you still must register for a global cash card account at www.globalcashcard.com in order to view your pay-stubs.

Q: When can I expect to receive my W-2?
A: Reliance strives to provide W-2s no later than the end of January. Most employees will receive their W-2s sooner. We mail the W-2 from our corporate office to the address you provided us. If the address is incorrect your W-2 will be returned to the corporate office.
Q: Why are you taking money from my paycheck?
A: There are several reasons deductions will be made to paychecks, most notably being federal and state taxes and any garnishment and/or child support legal requirements.
Q: I have a pay card and there is no money on it – what do I do?
